boy the last band of b/w/B/w/b is way closer to the sound hole than I have ever gone. I'd chip that sucker out for sure.

You could cut the sound hole with one of those schneider razor cutter things (technical jargon ). That would probably prevent chip out.

Yup... I am a true believer in scoring lines before routing them. It prevents chip out quite well.

I am almost affraid to post this but I will anyway.
I think that the wood rosettes we have seen posted on this site are all realy spectacular. For me I won't buy another pre-made typical rosette ever again. BobC set me up with enough exotic wood for a couple years on my build schedule...so from here on out it natural for me.
I like it! I like binding the sound hole idea too. It's just a nice extra touch that says hand made ( to me anyway).
